What To Expect

1.

Patient Forms

The most efficient way to complete these forms is to download them from our “New Patient Center”, print, and fill them out prior to your first visit.  However, you do have the option of filling them out right in our lobby.  Our receptionist will welcome you as a member of our family and request that you complete our necessary  patient forms. This paperwork provides us with your health history and detailed information on your condition.

2.

Consultation

Next, you will have a consultation with one of our doctors of chiropractic to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. This initial visit is designed for our chiropractors to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine how chiropractic care can meet your goals.

3.

Examination

After your consultation, our chiropractors will perform a complete chiropractic examination testing many systems of your body  There may be neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical tests used to assist in formulating an accurate diagnosis.

4.

X-Ray Studies

Depending on your specific condition, the doctors may order X-rays to identify any bony abnormalities or arthritis in the area of your complaint.  These x-rays will also help to develop the most effective treatment plan for you, and alert us of any serious spinal conditions prior to beginning treatment.

Report of Findings

5.

Once the information is collected and examinations are performed, our chiropractors will give you a detailed report of all findings and answer any questions. Although some treatment may be performed to assuage your pain on your initial visit, the complete plan of care is normally revealed to you on your second meeting with the doctor.  After reviewing all the examination findings and your personal health history, our chiropractors will outline a plan of care they feel will be most effective to achieve your goals. They will also notify you at this time  if your condition requires care with other providers.

6.

Treatment

Your treatment may consist of spinal adjustments alone or it may combine several modalities dependent upon the complexity of your condition(s).  Treatment is most effective when separated into 3 stages of care:  relief, correction, and strengthening.  This is described in much more detail in the “New Patient Center” menu.  An approximate recommended duration and frequency of care will be discussed as well.

7.

Wellness Program

During your initial care and often after the completion of it,, the doctor will suggest a wellness program incorporating ice or heat application instructions, certain activities or positions to avoid, and at home exercises and/or stretches. If you desire, our wellness team will work with you also to create healthy habits and routines for your lifestyle. Every person is unique, therefore everyone requires a customized wellness plan. The purpose of our wellness program is for you to achieve good spinal alignment, have a healthy diet, exercise, and maintain a positive mental state.
